- Busbar Separation: Main busbars are physically separated from all functional units and cable terminals.
- Functional Unit Separation: Each functional unit (such as a breaker, switch, or starter) is partitioned off from the others to prevent a fault in one unit from spreading to an adjacent unit.

- Busbar Segregation: The main horizontal and vertical busbars are physically protected behind rigid barriers, preventing accidental contact during maintenance.
- Functional Unit Separation: Each breaker or starter sits in its own individual, enclosed cubicle or compartment.
- Terminal Separation: The terminals for external, outgoing cables are separated from the main busbars, but do not require individual compartmentalization for every single cable.
- Busbar Separation: Metallic or insulating barriers safely divide the main and distribution busbars from the functional units (e.g., MCCBs and MCBs).
- Terminal Segregation: The external cable terminals are partitioned away from the functional units, reducing the risk of accidental contact with live components during cable maintenance or termination.
- Standard Compliance: These panels are typically governed by the IEC 61439-2 standard for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies.
- Maintenance Limitations: While safe from accidental contact with the busbars, the functional units themselves are generally not separated from each other. Servicing a specific breaker might still require shutting down that specific module.
- Busbar Segregation: The main busbars are physically separated from functional units (e.g., MCCBs, MCBs) using barriers or partitions (usually metallic or insulating).
- Terminal Accessibility: The outgoing cable terminals share the same compartment as the main busbars. They are not independently separated or shielded from the bus system.
- Safety & Maintenance: This design reduces the risk of accidental contact with live busbars when operating functional units, though live parts are still exposed in the cable zone.
