Description

The use of RCD in electrical system.

Residual Current Device is a new phenomena in our country although it is invented and used till many decade in the developed countries.  In our country most of the electrical does contains the Residual Current Device for protecting the circuit. The RCD is not used in Bangladesh due to various reason. Not only economic but also the lack of knowledge about this technology also a big reason. The other reason is our common electrical wiring system and the untrained electricians.

What is RCD?

RCD (Residual Current Device) is an electrical safety device that is designed to quickly disconnect a circuit when it detects an imbalance between the incoming and outgoing current. It is important in electrical systems because it can provide protection against electrocution, electrical fires, and other electrical hazards by instantly disconnecting the power supply as soon as it detects a problem. This can help to prevent serious injury, damage to property, and even death in some cases. Additionally, RCDs can also improve the reliability and safety of electrical systems by detecting and disconnecting faulty electrical devices, such as appliances and tools, before they become a problem.

How RCD save human from electric shock?

An RCD can save humans from electric shock by quickly disconnecting the electrical circuit as soon as it detects an imbalance between the incoming and outgoing current, while a conventional circuit breaker only protects against overloading or short-circuits. An RCD is specifically designed to protect against electric shock by breaking the flow of current in the circuit as soon as it detects a fault, such as a person coming into contact with a live conductor. A conventional circuit breaker, on the other hand, only disconnects the circuit when it detects an overload or short-circuit, and may not always provide adequate protection against electric shock. In summary, while a conventional circuit breaker can provide some protection against overloading and short-circuits, an RCD provides additional protection against electric shock by quickly disconnecting the circuit as soon as it detects a fault.   People also search us by; Electrical Engineering, Engineering Firm, Electrical Safety, Lockout Tagout, Engineering Service Company, Lightning Protection System, ABB Lightning Protection System, ABB Circuit Breaker,  Safety Engineering, Safety Item Supplier.
